2010 bonanza

The 2010 Soccer World Cup will make many entrepreneurs rich.
This premier world sporting event will attract people from around the globe.
These visitors will spend nearly R13 billion in 43 days - a spending spree never seen in SA before.
Those who skim the cream will be entrepreneurs who are ready - not people who wake up in December 2009 and who suddenly want to 'do something'.
From the recent 2010 conference in Ekurhuleni, it is clear that in the run-up to 2010 there will be enormous opportunities for alert entrepreneurs to help themselves to the huge infrastructure pie.
Many municipalities will publish tenders for projects that are already public.
The time is ripe for entrepreneurs to join consortiums to bid for these tenders or to latch onto the supply chains of pro-active consortiums.
There are a few events that will attract infrastructure investments and concentrated tourisms spending much as 2010.
Entrepreneurs can also learn from the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
From the German experience, it is clear that hotels, tourism spots and other businesses will reap the dollars.
The key is innovation.
If your product or service is unique, it will be profitable, probably very profitable.
Do not underestimate this event, as many entrepreneurs will seize the opportunity.
Make sure you are one of them.
